CBI joint director Mr VV Lakshminarayana said today they have not yet received the petition copies with regard to the orders of the high court directing preliminary investigation into the alleged illegal properties of the former chief minister Mr Chandrababu Naidu and also into his links with his allies.
Addressing a media conference in Hyderabad today, he said they would begin investigation in the case soon after receiving the copies. “Once we receive the orders, we will launch the investigation by serving notices to all the defendants in the case,” he said.
He said they would call all the persons mentioned in the High Court orders to their office and question them as per the procedure. “We will also seek all relevant documents from them,” Lakshminarayana told journalists.
He clarified that they could only respond to complaints with regard to the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) owned by Gali Janardhan reddy. “Complaints with regard to other mining activities can’t be taken up by the CBI as we have no orders from the High Court,” he clarified. (JUBS)
