‘Dream girl’ Hemamalini, who ruled roost with her glamorous looks during her long stint in the Bollywood, is still as fit as a fiddle at 63.
Thousands of spectators gave her a standing ovation when she came to the dais wearing a golden sari and still looking like a dream girl at the Colors’ Golden Petal Awards function in Mumbai Monday night.
Responding to queries on how she kept her fitness even at this age, she said she worked hard to retain her looks as a dream girl throughout her four decade-old film career.
“If you want to keep fit for ever, take 17 bottles of water daily and you should dance and dance daily, not the dances of ‘Sheila ki jawaani’ but be involved yourself in classical, traditional Bharatanatyam dances,” she told thousands of spectators who were stunned by her determination to keep fit always.
She however said she never worked hard to earn any title. “I always worked hard to keep myself fit and the title came my way,” she said adding that she never longed to get them. Hemamalini’s films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ and ‘Johnny Mera Naam’ are the greatest hits of her film career.
Hemamalini can dance like an 18-year old classical dancer even at this age and she proved it by stunning the audience with her excellent Bharatanatyam performance at a devotional function recently. (JUBS)
