Lokesh Kumar replaces tainted Srilakshmi

The Government has decided to appoint Mr Lokesh Kumar as the Commissioner, family welfare department in place of Srilakshmi who has gone on leave since Nov 9 after being named as one of the accused in the illegal mining case.

Sources said Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy will issue orders to this effect in a day or two. Mr Lokesh Kumar is presently the Director of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). According to reports, Lokesh Kumar will handle the responsibility of the Commissioner of the Family Welfare Department additionally while continuing in his present capacity.

Meanwhile, the CBI is all set to arrest the tainted IAS officer Srilakshmi for her involvement in the illegal mining case registered against the former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan reddy.

She is facing allegations of showing sheer favoritism for the Gali owned Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC). Reports indicate Srilakshmi has been camping in Delhi lobbying to avoid her arrest but no one is listening to her appeals.
