Jagan confesses to Gali investments in Sakshi daily

YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan reddy has reportedly revealed to the CBI officials during his questioning today that the former Karnataka Minister and the illegal mining case accused Mr Gali Janardhan reddy had invested in his company Jagathi Publications, publishers of Sakshi daily.

He told the CBI sleuths that he had met Gali four times in some private functions but had no personal friendship or relationship of any sort with him.

Jagan told the CBI officials that RR Global, owned by Gali Janardhan reddy, had invested in his Sakshi daily but he had nothing to do with the extension of mining leases to the OMC. “The extension of mining leases to Gali-owned OMC has nothing to do with the investments,” he told the CBI officials.

“The extensions were given as part of the routine government decisions but I never interfered with government decisions,” he seems to have told the CBI officials.

Reports said that Jagan told the agency that he never forced Gali to invest in his daily Sakshi nor did he know about the origins of the investments made into his company by the illegal mining baron.

Meanwhile, CBI Joint director VV Lakshminarayana told journalists that they had recorded the statement of Jagan and would probe further with regard to his statement. When asked whether TDP chief Mr Chandrababu Naidu would be called for questioning, Lakshminarayana said that Jagan had given them a copy of the GO issued in 2002 and they would examine it.
