Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy today formally launched the prestigious Re. 1 per kg rice scheme in Hyderabad.
Inaugurating the scheme at a ration shop at the Library Centre at Khairatabad, Kirankumar said the congress party government is committed to serve the poor people with its innovative welfare sachems.
The Rs.1 per kg rice scheme has replaced the Rs.2 per kg rice scheme effective today as per the announcement made by the government few months ago.
Distributing the rice to several BPL families having the white ration cards through his hands on the first day, the Chief Minister said each and every member in a BPL family would get 4 kg of rice per head every month but subject to a maximum of 20 kg to each family. “It would put an additional financial burden of Rs.700 Cr every year on the government,” he said.
Kirankumar promised to create 15 lakh jobs in the next three years and 1.16 lakh youth would be given jobs before the end of December. “Till date this year, Rs.892 Cr was given in shape of loans to women’s self help groups under the 25 paisa interest scheme,” he said.
