The government has refused permission to the 72-hour fast proposed to be undertaken by the TRS MLAs in Hyderabad from Nov1 under the aegis of the Telangana political JAC.
Following this, the TRS has reportedly decided to change the venue to Karimnagar. Sources said the JAC and the TRS leadership will take a final decision on the venue shortly.
It might be said JAC convener Prof Kodanda Ram had announced that the TRS MLAs and JAC leaders would undertake a 3-day fast protesting against the AP Formation Day celebrations at the Indira Park from Nov 1. However, TRS announced the fast would be indefinite.
Since the AP Formation Day celebrations will take place at the adjacent NTR stadium near Indira Park, Government has not given permission to the fasting programme, according to official sources.
After the permission was denied, the JAC thought of taking up the programme at the new MLA quarters but police refused to grant permission there also for the fasting programme.
