Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Chief Botsa Satyanarayana yesterday advised TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu instead of counter filing against the PIL filed by YSR Congress Party MLA Y S Vijay Lakshmi seeking CBI probe into his assets, he should prove his clean image, by allowing the probe. He further added that the case would give a great opportunity to Mr Naidu to prove that he was clean and never indulged in corruption during his tenure as Chief Minister for nine years.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, he said Mr Naidu should allow the court to order a probe into the allegations of corruption against him. He also said the former Chief Minister had been advocating anti-corruption campaign launched by social activists Anna Hazare. Therefore, now he should not file any counter to stop the enquiry into the assets.

Citing the example of CBI's probe into the alleged disproportionate assets of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the APCC President said people thought that he was corrupt because he tried to block the investigations by approaching various courts, including the Supreme Court.
