Amid reports that the Centre has been grappling with the Telangana issue and is on its way to find a solution to it at the earliest, AP Governor ESL Narasimhan, who arrived in Delhi last evening on summons from the Centre, met PM Dr Manmohan Singh today and submitted his report.
The Governor is said to have appraised the PM on the situation prevailing in the state following the T employees’ mass general strike which has entered its 26th day today. The Governor has earlier met the Union Home Minister Mr P. Chidambaram and briefed him on the political situation in AP.
However, what actually transpired in the talks Narasimhan held with Manmohan Singh and Chidambaram is not made public.
Kiran, Botsa, DS arrive in Delhi
Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, PCC Chief Mr Botsa Satyanarayana and former PCC chief Mr D. Srinivas have also arrived in Delhi on urgent summons from the congress high command and the Centre.
All of them are scheduled to meet the congress core committee members Pranab Mukherjee, Chidambaram, A.K. Antony, Ghulam Nabi Azad and party president Sonia Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel today and hold consultations on the Telangana issue.
The core committee members held consultations last evening in North Block on Telangana and the talks will continue today.
Meanwhile, TRS and the Telangana political Joint Action Committee are hoping for a solution on the T issue and expect an announcement by the Centre in the next four days.
