As the T protagonists turned anarchic and damaged some 20 private buses coming from the coastal regions of Andhra to Hyderabad at the Andhra-Telangana meeting points on the national highway in Nalgonda district today, police lathi charged the protesters and arrested 10 T men.
A police officer was seriously injured when violent T mobs hurled stones on the police who tried to prevent the attack on buses.
Hundreds of protestors, raising T slogans, resorted to Rasta Roko and stopped buses at Akupamula village of Munagala Mandalam in the Nalgonda district. Private buses and trucks were stranded for over five km on the highway leading to an unprecedented traffic jam.
Reports said the unruly T men attacked with stones and damaged 10 private buses of the Andhra region at Nakarikallu too in the district raising tensions. When police tried to stop the attackers, the agitators attacked police seriously injuring the Nakarikallu CI Mr Viswa Prasad. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and his condition is stated to be serious.
The agitating T men didn’t allow the vehicles to enter into the T land and police tried to chase the agitators away but to no avail. Police ultimately resorted to mild lati charge and dispersed the crowds.
