Eighteenth day of Sakalu Janula Samme, Hyderabad total bandh

Eighteenth day of Sakalu Janula Samme Hyderabad total bandhThe Sakalu Janula Samme demanding the separate statehood for Telangana reached the eighteenth day, today, in the Telangana parts of Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) has called for total Hyderabad bandh, today. In view of the bandh MMTS has stopped all its services for the day. The Telangana Auto Rickshaws association has sent its feelers for the bandh and is joining the strike today.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organizing a two day national executive meet at New Delhi, which starts today. The first day of the meet would discuss about the separate statehood for Telangana. The state President of BJP, G Kishan Reddy is expected to participate and enlighten the committee about the bandh proceedings and the Government response in a detailed analysis format. Senior members of the state unit have already reached the national capitol.

Yesterday the bandh call was exercised asusual, the only difference was there were no newspapers for the readers in Telangana parts of Andhra Pradesh, as the Newspapers hawker association joined the protest.

The JAC activists were arrested for trying to barge into homes of Congress MLAs and ministers. Holding banners and shouting slogans of "Jai Telangana", leaders and workers of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other groups that form the JAC laid siege on the houses of the elected representatives.

It has come to light that some leaders wanted the unified Andhra Pradesh or the IT hub must remain distinct as they felt if otherwise would affect the economy. In a retort the TRS chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao (KCR) warned the central government against cutting away Hyderabad from Telangana as some seemandhra leaders wished. He said that Telangana will boil and added that no proposal except Telangana state with Hyderabad as its capital was acceptable to them, at a meeting.

The great TRS Chief was generous enough when he said that they (Seemandhra) can have a secretariat here. We have two halls in the assembly. They can use one of them and function from, for three or five years till they develop their own capital.

Meanwhile the state administration continued to remain largely paralysed in the region with over 4 lakh government employees stayed away from offices. Thousands of teachers, lawyers and doctors have already pledged their allegiance to the strike. And ofcourse the common mans plight has remained asusual.
