TV5 sting operation against Sankara rao stinking !

TV5ShankarraoThe not-so-popular Telugu TV channel TV5, which said that minister Sankara rao took bribe of Rs. 10 lakh from a congress ticket aspirant in the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections two years ago and showed an imperfect visual on Wednesday, has further lost its credibility.

The channel, which is on the verge of closure, was chosen by the organizers of the so called sting operation for obvious reasons. According to sources, the supporters of YSR Congress party Chief Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy, had first approached the TV 9 for telecast of the footage but the channel refused to oblige saying that the footage contained nothing substantial of a perfect sting operation.

If the footage really had some substance, Jagan-owned TV channel Sakshi could have aired it proudly to take vengeance on Sankara Rao who complained to the High Court on his alleged illegal properties resulting in the CBI investigation.

Our sources revealed that Sakshi also kept off the show for fearing of losing what ever credibility it has among masses in the state since the footage had nothing substantial in it to corner Sankara Rao.
The TV5 channel, which has no takers in the TV channel market despite its being thrown up for sale some years ago, has just shown Sankara rao taking money. There was not even a visual of the person who reportedly gave it, not at least the back portion of the person.

The channel didn’t even mention the name of the person who purportedly gave the money to Sankara rao two years ago when he was the MLA.  Nor did it mention the name of the division from which the bribe giver contested on the congress ticket.

One also wants to know the reasons as to why the channel kept silent for over two years for telecasting the show.

No one would support Sankara Rao if he is corrupt. We are not giving any certificate to Sankara rao that he is free of corruption but before making allegation against any one, media should watch its acts. No one has any iota of doubt that the footage was telecast deliberately and unabashedly by the channel to malign Sankara rao for the simple reason that he has launched a crusade against the corrupt in the political establishment.

Sankara rao has announced that he would take legal action against the channel for damaging his reputation. We hope that he would take things to a logical conclusion by approaching a proper court of law and prove his innocence in the matter.
