Telugu TV channel TV 5, where in YSR Congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy has reportedly had a stake, on Wednesday telecast a special two-year old footage in which textile minister Dr P Sankara Rao was seen accepting a bribe from an unidentified person for arranging congress party ticket in the last Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.
The channel, which has no big popularity these days, said that Sankara rao, only an MLA then, had taken a bribe of Rs.10 lakh in cash from the said person. The channel however didn’t reveal the name of the person who was said to have the given the bribe. Neither had it disclosed the division of the Municipal Corporation from where the said person contested the elections.
The footage showed Sankara rao telling the ticket aspirant, “Ticket is over, leave it now.”

The minister however denied the story and threatened to take legal action against the channel if it didn’t withdraw it and apologize to him. “I will file a case against the channel in a court and also lodge a criminal complaint against its management,” he said.
“I know Jagan had a stake in the channel and they did it to tarnish my image as I have lodged complaints against him. If I wanted money, I would have taken crores of rupees from several bigwigs. The story is clearly a morphed one,” he said.
