Gampa meets KCR, may quit TDP

GompaGiving shock to his party leadership, Kamareddy TDP MLA of Nizamabad district Mr Gampa Govardhan today held a meeting with the TRS Chief Mr K. Chandrasekhara rao for more than an hour at the TRS office in Hyderabad.

The meeting gains significance in the wake of rumours ruling roost for the last four months that Mr Govardhan has been planning to join TRS for supporting the Telangana cause.

The meeting led to speculation that the TDP leader may join the TRS shortly. Already, Pocharam Srinivasa reddy quit the TDP as he had developed differences with the party president Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu over the Telangana issue.

Srinivasa reddy quit both the TDP and assembly and is contesting again as the TRS candidate for the Banswada by election being held on October 13.

It is said that Mr Govardhan will go the Pocharam way and has almost made up his mind on quitting both the party and the assembly. “Gampa Govardhan may announce his decision officially in a day or two,” said a source.
