Govt cares too hoots for strike victims

strike-in-telanganaEven as the all people’s strike (mass general strike) entered its 12 successful day crippling normal life across Telangana, especially in Hyderabad, the Centre and the state governments remained mute spectators to the suffering of the strike victims.

While already public transport system has been crippled for the sixth consecutive day today across Telangana due to the strike by the RTC staff in support of the demand for separate state, SCR has also cancelled a number of trains in the region today and tomorrow due to a call given by the Telangana political JAC for rail blockade.

Several train services, express and passenger, were either cancelled or rerouted by the authorities due to the blockade. Since this morning, the SCR officials started returning the advance reservation money to thousands of passengers. Several MMTS train services were also suspended in and around Hyderabad.

All government employees of the Telangana region, including RTC staff, government doctors, teachers, even group one officers, Singareni Collieries staff and electricity department employees are on strike for the last several days demanding the formation of separate Telangana state.
