Aimed at preparing the congress party to face the 2014 assembly elections with better strength and curtailing the popularity of the YSR Congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy, Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy today unleashed a slew of welfare measures for women and the downtrodden.
Undertaking a whirl wind tour of the villages and towns in the West Godavari district, Kirankumar inaugurated the newly established Rs.1098 Cr Stree Nidhi Bank in Poolla of Bhimadolu Mandalam along with Minister Sunitha Lakshma Reddy.
The Chief Minister also distributed the crop insurance grants to several farmers in the public meeting presided over by Minister Mr Vatti Vasantha Kumar. Speaking on the occasion, Kirankumar said that 1.20 Cr beneficiaries will be given financial benefits worth Rs.3000 Cr through Stree Nidhi Bank. “Banks in the entire country have distributed loans worth Rs.22, 000 Cr out of which Rs.9,000 Cr are in AP,” said the CM.
The CM also laid foundation stones for Stree Sakti buildings in several Mandalams in the district besides handing over letters of house sites allotments to nearly 2000 people in the district. He also distributed loans to several persons at 25 paise interest.
Certificates through single window
Kirankumar announced that special centers are being set up in Krishna, Khammam and Chittor districts where people can get birth and death certificates and other necessary certificates immediately on payment of fee of Rs. 5 to Rs.10. On the whole, some 30 services can be availed of in these special centers. “Gradually, these will be extended to other districts too,” said the chief minister.
Kirankumar also announced that arrangements are being made for people to draw their ration from any ration shop in any town in the state irrespective of their residence.
Inclement weather
Earlier, the CM has had some anxious moments in the air when his flight landed late and making rounds at the Madhuarpudi airport near Rajahmundry due to inclement weather.
