Telangana political JAC convener, Prof. Kodanda ram asserted today the mass general strike which began across Telangana area this morning would continue indefinitely till separate Telangana state is achieved.

Addressing a BJP rally at the Gun Park in Hyderabad this afternoon, Kodanda ram asked the state government not to invoke the ESMA against the striking employees as it would amount to violation of basic right to strike work.

“If you invoke ESMA and harass the striking employees, we will bring the administration to a halt,”he warned the government.

Senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya, who also addressed the rally, said the mass general strike which began this morning would soon turn into a Kurushetra war. “I call upon the centre to initiate the process for formation of Telangana state at least now as it is always better late than never,” he said, adding “you will soon witness a Kurushetra.”

“As the mass general strike continues, a day will come when the chief minister Kirankumar reddy cannot come out of the secretariat,” he warned.
