Govt talks tough on employees’ strike

DhanamMukeshIndicating the government’s tough stand towards the mass general strike proposed to be launched by the Telangana employees from tomorrow with a demand to declare Telangana state, Ministers Danam Nagender and Mukesh Goud warned the striking employees would not get pay for their striking days.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad today, both the ministers said that the GO no 177 relating to the ‘No work no pay’ would be strictly implemented as per the high court orders if the employees go on strike.

“Since we have to implement the GO fully as per the HC orders, we appeal to the Telangana employees to call off their strike,” they said.

They observed that the issue of Telangana was not in the hands of state government as it would be decided by the Centre. “Employees’ demands will always be considered sympathetically and all their problems would be solved with due consideration,” they said and warned that the strike would create problems to the Telangana people only.

The ministers addressed the media after they held talks with the chief minister Kirankumar reddy in his chamber at the secretariat.
