Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy today announced that the state government would soon form ‘Sthree Nidhi Society’ to help women of self-help groups with loans on nominal interest rates.
Addressing media persons in Delhi, Kirankumar said that the government has decided to form this society with a corpus fund of Rs.1000 Cr to give freedom to women from the harassment of the micro finance firms which are exploiting them.
“Once this society is formed, women can take loans from it,” he said. Kirankumar Reddy said he has requested the centre to provide six lakh gas connections additionally under the ‘Deepam’ scheme and also constitute two additional special police battalions in the state.
He said he also discussed the issues of Polavaram, Pranahita and Chevalla projects with the Union Minister Jayanthi Natarajan.
Speaking about the investigation against the alleged illegal wealth of YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the chief minister said the state and central governments would take suitable action against Jagan and his companies if allegations and illegalities are proved in the investigation.
When asked about the resignations of Jagan group MLAs, he said the Assembly Speaker would deal with the resignations.
