Mr. Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, congress MP from Nellore, today quit his Lok Sabha seat in support of the YSR congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy who is facing charges of illegal accumulation of wealth during his father’s regime.Mr Reddy met the Lok Sabha Speaker Ms. Meira Kumar this morning in Delhi and submitted his resignation.
He told journalists he submitted his resignation to protest the mention of late YSR’s name in CBI’s FIR against Jagan in the illegal wealth case. Rajamohan Reddy is a strong supporter of Jagan and has been siding with him after the formation of the YSR congress party.
“I have resigned protesting the way Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy is being treated and Andhra Pradesh is being run by the Centre,” he said answering a question.Anakapalli MP Sabbam Hari, who is also a Jagan loyalist, was present during Mr. Reddy’s meeting with Mr. Kumar and said they have been upset as CBI named YSR in the FIR against Jagan. “I will also resign soon,” he said.
