Mr Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, former MLA and son of the late Kapu war lord of the Krishna District Vangaveeti Ranga, refused to join the congress party along with other PRP leaders at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday citing the reason that Chiranjeevi did not assure him the party ticket in the next elections.

Reports said Chiranjeevi asked Radhakrishna to join the congress party unconditionally assuring him that he would think of his political future at an appropriate time. However, this did not satisfy the Vijayawada Kapu leader who did not turn up for joining the congress in Hyderabad along with others.

It was true that Radhakrishna was one of the few leaders who quit the congress to join the PRP in 2008 but now since Chiru merged his party with the congress, Radhakrishna is worried about his political future.

Radhakrishna is worried that it would be difficult for him to get the congress party ticket in the next elections as present legislator Malladi Vishnu has emerged as a powerful leader now in the congress. He therefore sought an assurance from the mega star Chiranjeevi of the party ticket from Vijayawada in the next general elections.

As Chiru was unable to provide such an assurance, Radhakrishna skipped the merger meet yesterday. He is thinking of joining the YSR Congress party, according to sources.
