Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram said today that the congress leadership has been holding discussions with congress leaders of all regions on Telangana and expressed the confidence that the issue would be solved soon.
Addressing media persons in Delhi, he said the congress high command was also engaged in a discussion with the T congress MPs who had resigned for the sake of Telangana and said he was hopeful of the MPs withdrawing their resignations.
Observing that it was heartburning to know that students and youth have been sacrificing their lives for the sake of Telangana, the Home Minister appealed to the Telangana youth not to commit suicides. “All political parties should ask the youth not to give up their lives as it is our responsibility to ensure their welfare,” he said.
Speaking on the removal of 14 F clause, Chidambaram said he had requested the Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy to get the resolution passed again by the assembly. “I know it was passed by the assembly but it needed to be passed again as there was a lot of change in the situation now. Once it comes to us, we will forward that for the Presidential acceptance,” he said.
