Union minister and in charge of AP Congress affairs Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad began the discussions on Telangana issue by meeting the T congress leaders Monday evening and asking them to explain the reasons for rejection of their demand for Telangana state by the Seema Andhra leaders.
The Telangana congress leaders told Azad that the status of Hyderabad and distribution of river waters are the main obstacles that are coming in the way of Telangana state.
“If the Seema Andhra leaders accept the formation of Telangana state in principle, the issues of Hyderabad and water distribution can be easily solved with the cooperation of the technical experts,” congress leaders of the Telangana told Azad.
The second round of discussions between the T congress leaders and Azad will take place around 10.30 am on Wednesday. While Azad invited 12 members for the first round of discussions Monday evening, 15 members turned up for talks and Azad luckily did not object to the increase in the number.
Azad reportedly told the T congress leaders that it would be possible to find a quick solution to the issue if they cooperate.
