In the wake of the finding of huge gold wealth in the secret chambers of the Sree Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, treasure-hunt has also begun in the temples of AP.

Believing there could be hidden treasure, some unidentified people last night uprooted the Siva Lingam and other deities in the ancient Siva temple in the Malkaram village of Shamshabad Mandalam in Rangareddy district.

Finding no treasure, the culprits stole the jewellery of the deities and made good their escape. Police have registered a theft case.
