Despite the threat of the T forces to intensify the agitation seeking the separate state of Telangana, congress party president Sonia Gandhi is reportedly inclined towards constituting the statutory body of Telangana Regional Council or Development Board with a whopping financial package for the region’s development.
Reports said that Sonia conveyed the proposal to the Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy when he called on her this morning in Delhi. She told him that the congress party should be prepared to face the next elections with this proposal.
The party president told the chief minister the proposal would be made to the leading players of the Telangana agitation with an offer that separate state would be formed in due course of time if the regional imbalances are not removed with the Regional Council or Developmental Board.
Sonia Gandhi thinks that the proposal would be acceptable to the Seema Andhra congress leaders too along with the Telangana people. The congress leadership is aware that most of the T congress leaders will welcome the proposal.
