Pushpagiri Eye Institute, a division of the Pushpagiri Vitreo Retina Institute, located on Road No 9, West Maredpally in Secunderabad of Andhra Pradesh is the most sought after eye care centre in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

Established in 2007 by Sri Pushpagiri Charitable trust in association with highly experienced medical experts  like Dr. K. Viswanath, Dr. Govind Hari and others with a mission to provide the finest eye care to the needy at a subsidized expenditure, the institute has come a long way in extending the much needed eye care to the people.

Focusing mainly on diabetes retinopathy and dedicated to the treatments of Vitreo Retinal Diseases, the institute is the first of its kind in the state having highly qualified and experienced medical and eye-care professionals who are committed to extend their medical services to the people with utmost sincerity and dedication.

More than 1000 ophthalmologists and other physicians from Andhra Pradesh and other parts of the country have been availing the latest eye care services of this institute by referring their patients with complex eye problems ever since its inception in 2007.

It is no surprise then that the institute till now has conducted more than 92 ,000 eye screenings of which 71,000 are free, equaling to 76 per cent. Out of the total number of more than 9500 eye surgeries performed by the Institute so far, 4,950 were done free of charge. The authorities of the Institute have till now conducted more than 400 comprehensive eye screening camps all over the states.

The institute has also taken up several programs to check and prevent childhood blindness and covered till now 30,000 school going children.

Being a member of the Eye Bank Association of India (EBAI), the institute has several eye-related medical departments such as cataracts, cornea and refractive surgery, Vitreo Retina, glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, orbit and oculoplasty and optical services and contact Lens.

The institute also runs several eye related educational research and training programs and also an eye bank called Madhava Netra Nidhi.
