Speculation is rife in political circles that mega star and PRP-turned-congress leader Chiranjeevi will be taken into the central cabinet. Prior to that, he will be elected to the Rajya Sabha as a congress party leader once the PRP merger with congress is officially recognized by the Central Election authorities.
It is said that Chiru may even resign his Tirupati assembly seat in order to go to Rajya Sabha necessitating a by-election to the Tirupati seat.
Meanwhile, PRP leaders C.Ramachandraiah and Ganta Srinivasa Rao left for Delhi today to meet the officials of the Election Commission for finalizing the merger formalities. The merger formalities would be over by the first week of June, according to sources.
The necessity to speed up the merger formality also figured in the discussions that took place between the congress party President Sonia Gandhi and the Union Minister and in-charge of the AP Congress affairs Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad today in Delhi.
