CPI national leader D. Raja said today that their party would not support the resolution on Telangana to be introduced by the TRS president K. Chandrasekhara rao in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
“There is no need for us to support a resolution but we will surely support the Telangana cause if the Bill is introduced by the government on its own,” Raja told media persons in Delhi.
Reacting to the statement of KCR that he would introduce a resolution tomorrow on the Telangana formation and seek the support of all parties for its passage, Raja said that Telangana is not the personal property of KCR. “Every party has its opinions on the issue of Telangana and the issue is not his personal property,” he said adding that there was no need for them to support the resolution which will be introduced by KCR tomorrow.
He however hastened to add that CPI would support the Telangana Bill if the Centre takes the initiative and introduces it. “We are committed to the formation of separate state and surely we will support the Bill,” Raja said.
BJP to support resolution
BJP spokesman Prakash Javdekar told journalists they would support the resolution of KCR on Telangana and their party would also introduce another resolution on the issue along with that of KCR.
