Even as the ruling congress has not made up its mind on the party candidates, the TDP leadership has finally completed the selection of its candidates to contest the May 8 by-poll for the Pulivendula assembly and Kadapa Lok Sabha constituencies.

After considering the names of several candidates, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu has today zeroed in on senior leader MV Mysoora Reddy for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and Btech Ravi for the Pulivendula assembly seat. Their names were released to the media by a party spokesman this evening in Hyderabad.

The spokesman said in a statement that the candidates are very much locals and have an upper hand over others in both the constituencies. “TDP will win in both places,” the party said.

YS Vijayamma will contest for the Pulivendula assembly seat while his son YS Jaganmohan reddy will contest for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat on behalf of YSR Congress party.

Meanwhile, congress spokesman Tulasi Reddy said that the chief minister Kirankumar reddy and PCC chief D. Srinivas would announce the names of the party candidates this evening or tomorrow morning.
