The sleuths of the Income Tax departments today conducted simultaneous raids at the houses, offices and other premises of the Madhucon Construction Company in Hyderabad and Khammam owned by TDP senior leader and MP Nama Nageswara Rao.

Madhucon Construction Company has wide ranging interests in AP and other states and is involved in the construction of major projects across the country. It has undertaken construction of several big projects in some foreign countries also. Its projects included several fly-overs in Hyderabad city.

While the IT officials said the raids were routine in nature to find out if they are any taxevasions, TDP leaders described the raids as politically motivated. “Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy has decided to weaken the opposition through such raids and discouragement but TDPwill not be cowed down by such gimmicks,” a senior TDP leader said.

The MP was out of AP when several teams of the IT officials swooped on his premises and offices this morning in Hyderabad and Khammam.
