The Telangana political JAC today reportedly decided to organize a Telangana March in Hyderabad in the first week of November to press the demand for formation of Telangana state.
The JAC, which met at the CPI-ML New Democracy office in Hyderabad, had faced angry protests outside by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) activists led by its leader Manda Krishna Madiga.
The MRPS activists demanded the exemption of educational institutions from the mass general strike. As the demonstration led to mild tension, police took some of the activists into custody and released them later.
The MRPS chief Mr Manda Krishna Madiga has already said on several occasions that the Telangana people are seeking a Telangana state with full social justice and not the one ruled by Velama landlords.
The meeting, attended by JAC convener Prof Kodanda Ram and TRS chief Mr KCR, had also decided to resort to dharnas against the public representatives of political parties after Oct 25. Surprisingly, the JAC met at the New Democracy office for the first time. Previously, it conducted all its meetings at Telangana Bhavan, the headquarters of the TRS.
