YSR Cong approaches HRC

YSRCongressYSR congress party today approached the state human rights commission (HRC) seeking directions to the police to stop harassing its party activists and leaders.

In a complaint lodged with the HRC, the party legal cell said that the Kadapa police have been harassing the party workers and leaders and false cases are being foisted on them. The legal cell specifically complained that the Pulivendula police had beaten the party activist Mr Rahamtullah after registering a false case against him.

“The police attacks on the YSR Congress party activists and registration of false cases against them are only part of the vindictive actions of the government against it,” said the party in its complaint.

Based on the complaint, the HRC has asked the Kadapa district SP to submit a report on the happenings on or before Oct 27.

It might be mentioned that the Pulivendula police had filed cases against YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan reddy and 68 of his supporters two days ago for reportedly obstructing police in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities.
