Arnold misses award to Abhi, loves Bollywood

Arnie as his fans call him was the guest of honor at the 4th edition of the Panasonic Green Globe Foundation Awards. But unfortunately gave amiss to the evening award function.

The former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger who has seen a successful film career was at the day-long 12th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, on Thursday at Delhi. In the evening he was to attend the Green Globe Foundation Awards Ceremony. But the star turned politician gave a miss to the function. The function was to honor the people who were doing outstanding efforts in fighting climate changes. And in the celebrity section Abhishek Bachchan was to receive the award. Reasons of the absence are yet to be known. But confusion prevailed at the venue and finally noted environmentalist R K Pachauri presented Abhi the trophy.

The invitations to the event specifically mentioned that the Hollywood superstar turned politician was to present the award. But Abhi tweeted: "I had no clue that I was to get an award from Arnold... I was only told that I will be getting an award. I haven't met him also..."

Schwarzenegger has long been a crusader for clean, green and energy efficient environment and Abhi says he wouldn't mind working with him on environmental issues.

The Terminator fame arrived in New Delhi yesterday and he was given a very warm welcome. This was his first visit to India. He was overwhelmed at the welcome and expressed his gratitude to his fans by tweets.  The reasonless missing by the star is perplexing the public. Hope somebody clarifies his reasons.  Meanwhile in an interview to ND TV, the Hollywood Mr. Universe seems to enjoy Indian Cuisine. He disclosed that he would be glad to come back and work for Bollywood, if given a chance.                                                              (With inputs from internet: AarKay)
