10 years-old Indonesian girl grabbed and killed by crocodile

On Monday January 23 in Indonesia a tragedy took place, A father who was incapable in rescuing his 10 year old daughter from a crocodile. As the 10 year old girl was grabbed away and killed by a very large saltwater crocodile.

In the East Nusatenggara province the 10 year old girl Juraida along with her brother had been chasing for turtles, At the same time the girl was grabbed away in to the water by a crocodile.

Indonesian official Viktor Mado Waton said that 'the girl Juraida was grabbed when she was in amost half a metre of water at the river’s mouth.'

'The girls father and brother could only watch helplessly.'

A rescue team was later sent to the scene to discover only a dress and a hair ribbon on the sand, near the site of the incident.

The girl's body has yet to be found.

Locals had already told officials they had seen several crocodiles sunbathing at the river mouth a few days before the incident.

And last month a boy was killed by a crocodile in the same river whilst villagers have also reported a loss of livestock.

The salt water crocodile is the largest of all living reptiles and is more commonly found in Australia, the eastern coast of India and parts of south-east Asia.

Despite the fact normally per year there are exactly two deadly attacks reported, In current times in Myanmar, Borneo and Sumatra there have been attacks.
