People would never be tired to bring in more customers to achieve above their targets, especially in the hospitality industry. This is where, the hoteliers, in addition to quality also periodically innovate cuisine, to create brand equity. And Bangalore the fashion capital of south India is no exception.
A restaurant in Bangalore was persistent to offer something exclusive to its elite clientele. And in the process, they introduced a Gold Plated Dosa. The product was an instant hit with the clients in spite of its price tag at Rs. 1,011. In order to cater the less fortunate the restaurant also introduced a Silver Plated Dosa for Rs.151.
The restaurant owner who sprang on this idea, Chandan Lokesh says, `I wanted to do something in restaurant business, so I thought why can't we do something different, so when I once saw in a television channel that they are using gold foils for pizzas and ice creams, which cost 1000 dollars, thought why can't we get this to Bangalore and use it on something else?’
The dish is roasted crisp with a hint of olive oil and has a filling of mashed potatoes, in addition to the gold foil for the finishing touch. So the next time on a visit to Bangalore don’t miss the chance to grab your budgeted Dosa. But be careful, because for a family of four, one has to shell out 4k for a dosa, each!!!!
