Bodyguard collected over Rs. 100 Cr in a span of 5 days since its release, trade analysts are comparing Sallu Bhai with Tamil superstar Rajinikanth.

The box office results have risen Salman Khan, to the stature of the king of the Box Office with three consecutive blockbusters as `Wanted`, `Dabangg` and `Bodyguard`.

Salman is emerging as the Rajnikanth of Bollywood, says media professional and industry observer Abhijit Mhamunkar.

Though the film has a thin story line, Mhamunkar says it is doing well because Salman's film is like Rajnikanth's film. People go to watch Salman so there are no complaints from hardcore fans.

Bollywood trade expert Komal Nahta said, Films have released on Eid down the years, but the festival combined with Salman and his action is the major reason for this kind of overwhelming response. A couple of days after Eid, the collections usually start to drop. But on the sixth day too, ‘Bodyguard’ continues to sustain well.

We did expect Bodyguard to be storm but this is a tornado (at the box office). I’m super happy to be a part of three films in my career that have crossed the Rs 100 Cr, marked Salman.

The film is running full houses and has strong advance booking figures as well. The numbers are fantastic… 80-90% of occupancy. So the film looks robust at the box office, says Shirish Handa of Fun Cinemas.

The film was almost houseful at all the centers, even on a Thursday (a working day). The business will definitely shoot up over the weekend, says Jayendra Banerji of Satyam Cinemas.

On the whole Body Guard has evoked excellent response from all quarters, enough for Sallu bhai to rejoice and get well fast, post his surgery in the U.S.
