A sports car was badly damaged while its two occupants received injuries after they lost control over the car and rammed into Children's Park near India Gate on Sunday morning. The two occupants were reportedly heavily drunk when the incident happened.
The wall of Children's Park was badly damaged due to the impact of the collision. The incident was reported to the police at around 3:30am. The official said that the occupants of the car were identified as Angad Singh (23) and Sherry Singh (28), both natives of Faridabad, Haryana.
As Police said,The two were on their way to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib when they met with the accident. Delhi police arrested Angad, who was behind the wheel, for rash driving, but later released him on bail. The official said that it was a Porsche Carrera S, worth approximately Rs 1.5 crore, which was being driven by Angad. "They were passing through Zakir Hussain Marg when Angad took a sudden turn and lost control of the vehicle. The car hit the boundary wall of Children's Park before coming to a halt,"
The official said that the car may have somersaulted and fallen on the road. He said that the safety balloon burst at the right time or it could have turned into a grisly incident.
