The Union government was which under sever criticism for sacking Mizoram Governor Kamala Beniwal, gave two reasons for its decision and defended itself quite strongly. In fact, the Centre's decision might shock everybody and accused Kamala that she had cost the Gujarat government Rs. 1,216 crore in central funds by delaying a crucial bill during her tenure as Governor in the state.
The second cited is Kamala's unethical involvement in the Cooperative society. Then the Union government defended its stand on removing Kamala's as Governor and added that the act is in accordance with the Constitution of India. The government sources said that Kamala's removal was sought on the basis of Gujarat Chief Secretary's letter to Union Home Ministry, accusing her of causing loss to the Gujarat state. However, Government claimed that President decision is final and he took the opinion of attorney general into the matter and finally decided to sack her.
Whatever it may be, Narendra Modi government has hit back at the opposition parties by providing two strong evidence. Congress and NCP has termed Kamala's removal as “vendetta politics.”
