Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati hit back at BJP leader Amit Shah's comments on Azamgarh. On Sunday Amit again created a new controversy by dubbing Azamgarh as the 'base of terrorists'.
Mayawati reacted quite strongly on Amit's remarks and termed Gujarat as base of communalism. She also demanded the Election Commission to bar Amit from entering Uttar Pradesh. While CM Akhilesh said EC should take strictest action against such controversial remarks. ''
The Congress party too objected the controversial statements made by Amit and senior leader Rashid Alvi said, “What sort of a leader is Amit Shah ? It is wrong to say anything bad about any place in the world.”
