Trinamool Congress demands sorry from Modi

Trinamool Congress [TC] party has demanded an apology for BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for his remarks on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. TC's senior leader Mukul Roy said, “Modi said that a painting by Mamata Banerjee sold for 1.86 crore. He has to apologise for that.”

TC also termed Modi as the 'Butcher of Gujarat' referring to the 2002 communal riots in Gujarat. Modi on Sunday campaigned in West Bengal and criticized Mamata Banerjee and its government. He said, “Mamata has damaged Bengal in 35 months than what the Left parties did in 34 years. And a painting of her was sold for Rs 1.86 crores and why such huge price was offered,” questioned Modi.

Even the Trinamool Congress is yet to attack Modi, he posted a series of tweets. “I have great respect for her but I wonder where did Mamata Didi's Mamata go? She put water on hopes of people & is doing just what Left did. Mamata Didi is more concerned about her chair than people. She has to realize that she is in power now, time of Andolans are long over,” posted Modi in his Twitter account.
