Bharatiya Janata Party has picked actor and politician Smriti Irani from Amethi constituency which is sitting seat of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. With Aam Aadmi Party candidate and poet Kumar Vishwas also contesting from Amethi, the battle is going to be very interesting. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party is also looking forward to put a strong candidate from here to make the poll more nail-biting.

BJP has announced Smriti Irani's name in the late hours of Monday and has zeroed upon Supreme Court lawyer Ajay Aggarwal from Rae Bareli which is Congress president Sonia Gandhi's constituency.

With fielding strong candidates from Amethi and Rae Bareli, Congress is considering a strong name against Narendra Modi who will be contesting from Varanasi.
