Social activist Medha Patkar has decided to contest Lok Sabha elections independently without the support of any political party. However Aam Aadmi Party offered unconditional support to Medha and said it would not field any candidate against her and would support her in elections. Medha is undecided about the constituency and most probably she may prefer to contest from Maharashtra state.

AAP senior leader Sanjay Singh said, “we will support Medha Patkar and even if she wants to contest independently we will definitely extend our support and will not field any candidate against her. It is up to Medha ji whether to contest independently or from AAP party. We will appreciate if she contests on behalf of AAP.”
