BJYM Demands Ban on Guru's Book

Excerpts of Afjal Guru's diary which is supposed to have been written by the convict of Parliament House attack case in 2001, while he was in jail were printed and published by National Front a separatist organization in Jammu and Kashmir. The title of the book in Urdu is "Ahle Imaan Ke Naam Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guru Ka Akhri Paigam".

The book meant for free circulation was printed and circulated after it was formally released in a function held on Tuesday that was attended by Afzal Guru’s brother Aijaj Guru.  Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Chairman of National Front says that 5000 copies were printed and all of them were circulated.

In the book Guru calls the ones that master minded the attack on the Parliament building as martyr.  It is written in the book that the Jihad against India has become necessary.  There are enough points in the book to make the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) get mad about the book.

The books says, “Jihad-e-Kashmir has become indispensable…For Muslims there are only two options, either jihad or migration. Migration is not possible because there is not Madina here….. So only option is jihad... Even praying for Jihad is a jihad…”  It further says “Deen (Islam) is the fountainhead of our struggle. Animals also fight for rice, grass and other needs... Islam was the basic motivation for the martyrs like Maqbool Bhat, Ishfaq Majid Wani, Gaazi Baba et all…”

Ravinder Raina, the president of BJYM alleges, “It is a conspiracy against India. I demand that a book that says such negative things and provokes people must be banned. It is these people who have turned Kashmir into a graveyard” and demands that the book should be banned.
