Boeing 777 pilot was inexperienced!

After the Boeing 777 crash-landed in San Francisco on Saturday, Asiana Airlines came out in the open, telling that the pilot flying the aircraft had little experience.

Lee Hyomin, Asiana Airlines spokesperson affirmed the Associated Press Monday that Lee Gang-guk, the pilot in charge, was new to 777.  Although he had nearly 10,000 hours of flying experience, including the Boeing 747, he was relatively new to 777 with merely 43 hours to his credit.

His co-pilot Lee Jeong-min, who had 12,387 hours of flying experience and 3,220 hours of flying experience in the Boeing 777, was assisting his colleague with the landing.

On Sunday, a National Transportation Safety Board official said that primary information  gathered from the black boxes of Asiana Boeing 777 revealed that the aircraft was  flying slower than normal wile descending, before the crew accelerated its speed.

Two people were killed and over 180 were injured in the crash.

The plane, flying from South Korea, crashed into the runway, early on Sunday morning, snapping off its tail and catching fire before coming to a halt, which allowed some of the passengers to flee through the emergency exit.
