Finally the Congress party has opened up about their projection of Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Ministerial candidate for 2014 General elections. Senior party leader and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Sunday said that the party is clear about the 'capability' of Rahul Gandhi for the Prime Minister's post.  

"Congress is clear on the suitability and capability of party general secretary Rahul Gandhi for the post of Prime Minister. Senior and young party leaders have been projecting him for this post," he said this while speaking in a Vorodara election campaign rally.

He was quick to add that unlike Congress, BJP is yet to name a probable candidate for the post of Prime Minister. "However, BJP is undecided about its prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 General elections. BJP keeps on talking about LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh and Narendra Modi for the post," he added.

He also criticized Narendra Modi for not progressing further in politics saying that both him and Mody were Chief Ministers in 2003 , and while he managed to become governor of Andhra Pradesh and later Union Minister, Modi remained as Chief Minister without any further progress in his political career.
