Mani Shankar Aiyar stirs the Hornet's nest , compares opposition to animals

Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has stirred another controversy by comparing the opposition MPs with animals. This is creating ripples all over the political circle of the country. In an interview to a television channel on the Parliament deadlock over FDI (Foreign Direct Investment ) in retail, Aiyar said, "There is a decent and respectable way to express one's point of view. This behavior of the MPs reminds me of animals screaming in a well."

This comment came just after the end of  Parliament deadlock over FDI on Thursday when ruling UPA  agreed to conduct a voting process to decide further on the issue as per the demand of the opposition led by BJP. The current winter session of the parliament has already been under constant disruption regarding the FDI issue and now when the road seems clear , this insensitive comment may become the reason for another standoff.

This is not the first time that Mr. Aiyar made a controversial comment, earlier, while on a tour of the Andamans as the Cabinet Minister, Aiyar was quoted as saying at the Cellular Jail  that there was no difference between the radical right-wing revolutionary Veer Savarkar, a famous inmate of the prison, and Mohammed Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, as they shared a 'divisive' philosophy . It led to widespread controversy resulting a parliamentary halt and BJP and Shiv Sena protesting on the streets.
