The execution of Ajmal Kasab has strong impact on the minds of Pakistan based terror group and Kasab's main partner in that heinous crime LeT( Lashkar-e-Toiba). After hearing the news a top LeT commander said that Kasab was a hero and his act will inspire many to wage war against India. "He was a hero and will inspire other fighters to follow his path," the commander of the Pakistani militant group told Reuters on a telephonic conversation. On the other hand LeT's ideological inspiration Pakistani Taliban is reportedly shocked over the consequences Kasab faced. "There is no doubt that it's very shocking news and a big loss that a Muslim has been hanged on Indian soil," Taliban spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan told Reuters.
Pakistan government has also been playing safe by showing a strange indifference and even censored it's own media from commenting more on the subject. However, the interior minister , Rehman Malik told reporters without the usual rhetoric that Kasab got what it deserved. When asked about the fate of the real mastermind of that horrific terror attack in Mumbai, Hafiz Saeed , a source from the Pak goverment said “Saeed is a citizen of Pakistan and is entitled to due process of law. He or anyone else is not guilty till we have seen evidence that that person was involved in terror acts."
"We are deeply troubled and regret what happened in Mumbai. But if there is evidence provided and if we were in the government, we would take action," Added the source.
So, it will be really naïve to expect that the execution is a closure to 26/11 attacks as the key conspirators are still at large and still enjoys the unofficial support of Pakistan government .
