World War II bomb found in Japan

An unexploded bomb was found was recovered from Japan's Sendai Airport on Tuesday, which forced the officials to call off all flights today. The bomb was found when workers were repairing the drainage systems near the airport. As soon as they found the huge bomb, they informed the officials about the same following which flights were called off. The officials have said that the bomb was manufactured during World War II and possibly belonged to the United States. It is known that US dropped many bombs on Japan during the world war and obtaining such unexploded bombs was nothing new.

The size of the bomb was 110 centimetres long and 35 centimetres in diameter.  The weight of the bomb was 225 kilogrammes. The officials have said that in case this bomb explodes, the fragments of the bomb would be scattered for several kilometres. Therefore, they have asked people to evacuated after which they would defuse the bomb.
