The popular fast food chain Kentucky's Fried Chicken, KFC, in Thiruvananthapuram are all currently being examined and scrutinized after one family had the bitter (symbolic use, since we don't really know the taste) experience at KFC in Thiruvananthapuram. Their serving had dead worms in the fried chicken.
The family immediately notified the Food Safety Authorities to conduct an inspection who later found that the sanitation guidelines were flouted by the administration in the branch. Soon after all other outlets were being inspected as this one was temporarily shutdown.
"We came here after we received a complaint. We were told that worms were found in the chicken by the customer who informed us. When we inspected the place, we found worms in the fried chicken. This outlet has temporarily been shut down," Thiruvananthapuram district officer, Food Safety Authority, Sivakumar said.
The staff also tried to stop the officials from conducting a search but were unsuccessful. The complaint was made by Shaiju, an NRI, who had come to the busy eatery along with his wife, son and two relatives. Shaiju became nauseated and puked immediately after he saw a dead worm in the chicken served. He complained to the staff who tried to deter him from contacting the FSA for inspection.
