Extra buses during Ganesh Chaturthi at nights

There would be extra buses from 21 locations during the nights to tackle the higher number of footfalls in the city during the 10 days festival that ensues Ganesh Chaturthi.

The additional bus service will be provided from September 23 to 29 starting only a few days after the Ganesh Festival. The number of extra buses would depend on the demand in the city during the festive season. However, buses running at nights would be charged 25% higher than the normal fare.  Monthly and daily pass holders cannot use their bus passes after midnight, PMPML said. In the routes that are blocked on the occassion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the buses will ply in alternative routes.

The following routes have been suggested by the PMPML

Swargate to Pune station; Natraj hotel to Khanapur; Swargate to Hadapsar/Kondhwa; Hadapsar Gadital to Uruli; Moledina hall (Sassoon road) to Alandi; Dengle bridge to Hadapsar; PMC Bhavan to Bhosari, Chinchwad, Nigdi, Vishrantwadi, Khadki Bazaar; Congress Bhavan bus terminus to Kothrud depot; Deccan to Kothrud depot; Katraj to Swargate; PMC Bhavan to Pashan and Sutarwadi; Dhankawadi to Swargate; and from Bhosari, Akurdi, Pimprigaon, Masulkar Colony in Pimpri-Chinchwad to PMC Bhavan.
