At Pakur, Jharkhand police nabbed a courier delivery guy ferrying a consignment of 600 detonators and 240 gelatine sticks on Monday. The police who promptly reacted after receiving the intel on the courier services, searched the man and found the explosives according to the superintendent of Police Mayur Patel.
The delivery guy was later arrested. After interrogation it was found that the consignment was intended for two parties. The arrested also confessed that he took up two to three such deliveries every month.
It was found that the detonators were manufactured by the Rajasthan Explosives and Chemicals Limited at Dholpur and the Gelatine sticks were from Solar Industries Limited from Nagpur the SI said.
It was earlier known that the explosives generally were obtained from West Bengal which was infamous for such dealings. The Smugglers how had learnt of ways to ferry the explosives safely from the North and the west too after the raids on the eastern side had been greatly effective in curbing any such smuggling activities.
